Title: php gd imageresizer croppingtool, getting a piece out a picture

I'm looking for a script in php or javascript that can crop images and/or resize an image.
So if I upload an image, the script must take a preformatted sized piece out of the picture and return it for further purposes.

There are some of those scripts to crop an image, but it has to work on Internet Explorer, Firefox and Opera. (and Safari if possible)
